Small Things has a Stephen King feel to it and I say this without taking away any of Joe de Rouens talent!
It starts of tragically with the death and funeral of Tanner and his "crazy" little sister babbling on about monsters but then you board the scary train and start the ride of this "monster" stalking Shawn and Jenny and well I have to admit I was listening for things that go bump in the night!
After a close encounter with the "monster" Shawn can "mind shift" into the monster's thoughts which gives him a bit of an advantage but this also adds a twist to the plot later in the book!
Overall I enjoyed the book, there were a few moments that the story hit a bit of a plateau if I can call it that but it peaks again at the right moment and keeps your attention!
The synopsis is what got me to read the book the cover could be improved on though .
A worthwhile read
