This was an interesting and intriguing story that grabbed my attention from the very beginning and never let it go.
Straight from the off point with this story you want to know what is happening, why Alexa was the way she was and what was happening to her.
I felt for Alexa straight away and couldn't imagine how hard her life for the past few years had been, I thought she was so strong to carry on and to keep moving forward so I really admired her. I also really liked her best friend Jazz. Even though you could view her as a bit spoilt, I thought she bought a more light hearted feel to the story with her happy and uplifting personality.
The story line was unique and captivating. When Alexa attends the party and sees Lacal, I was excited and eager to keep reading on because I knew something big was going to happen. I love Lacal as well, he is not a typical alpha male like with many of the books I read and even though I love alphas, I thought Lacal's personality was sweet, protective, caring and I really enjoy his character.
As I was aware that this was a series, I was expecting a cliffhanger and that is what I got. Sometimes cliffhangers annoy me but because a lot of questions had been answered in this first book, it didn't bother me as I thought it might do. I'm now just eager to read the second which I will be doing straight away and I can't wait to see where the author leads us with the continuation of this story.

This is book two of the series and picked up right where book one left off. Jessica did and amazing job keeping the story flowing and not disappointing her readers! She keeps you wanting to know more about the characters and not wanting to put the book down or for the story to end. Be prepared for a cliffhanger at the end… but not the type that makes you angry or disappointed, but the type that has you wanting more!
Jessica has a unique way of telling a story of a vampire community, with a lot of emotional happenings between them. The main character Alexa is the new Vamipe Queen that is battling with her own inner demon and has a lot of self doubt. She finds the inner strength that she needs through the spirits of the previous Vampire Queens. Her strongest bond is with Rasmiya. There is a darkness that is threatening to destroy all that Alexa loves and she needs to step up and take control to stop it! There is another Vampire named Jocelyn that has one goal and that is to steal the crown from Alexa.
I do not want to ruin the book by telling too much. I hope this was enough to give you the just of the story and to make you “want” to read it! There are a lot of different vampire stories being told by different authors. And in my opinion this one is a must read! It is more than the hunt and the kill to obtain blood to survive. It tells you a story about the lives of a vampire community and all that they go through to survive. I highly recommend this book to all vampire lovers!
