A Beautiful Mess (Book One in the Beautiful Mess Series)
What happens when you lose everyone that promised they would always be there for you? How can you protect the few pieces of your shattered heart that remain? Olivia Adler is a woman with a troubled past. After losing her parents at the young age of six and being raised by an uncle who she lost years later, she refuses to get attached to anyone, including friends. For the past decade, she has been able to remain unattached to any man, too worried about losing someone to get too close. Until Alexander Burnham walks into her life one night and changes everything. But he has issues of his own. And he’s keeping a secret that could turn her world upside-down. Will Olivia let Alexander in enough for him to get close and protect her from a force threatening her very existence, or will she push him away, scared of letting Alexander in, in order to protect her heart? A Beautiful Mess is the first installment of a three part series sure to captivate the heart with a story of secrets, courage, and love. T.K. Leigh, otherwise known as Tracy Leigh Kellam, is a producer / attorney by trade. Originally from New England, she now resides in sunny Southern California with her husband, dog and three cats, all of which she has rescued (including the husband). She always had a knack for writing, but mostly in the legal field. It wasn’t until recently that she decided to try her hand at creative writing and is now addicted to creating different characters and new and unique story lines in the Contemporary Romantic Suspense genre. Her debut novel “A Beautiful Mess” has garnered relative praise, having been an Amazon Best Seller, an Amazon Top-Rated book. Recently, the book was named by The Guardian as a top reader-recommended self-published book of 2013 as well as a 2013 Reader’s Favorite in Publisher’s Weekly in addition to being named an Amazon Romance Editor’s Fan Favorite for Top Debut Author and Best Page Turner. When she’s not planted in front of her computer, writing away, she can be found running and training for her next marathon (of which she has run over fifteen fulls and far too many halfs to recall). Unlike Olivia, the main character in her Beautiful Mess series, she has yet to qualify for the Boston Marathon. How can you continue living when you’re living a lie? How can you convince your body to stop feeling, your soul to stop caring, and your heart to stop beating? Haunted by her past, Olivia Adler flees Boston for a beach in Florida, leaving everyone behind, trying to shut the world out. Remaining a relative recluse in her self-imposed prison, she tries to turn everything off, wanting to feel nothing. But a new acquaintance won’t let that happen. After being away from Alexander for a month, his voice constantly ringing in her head, reminding her that her inability to confront her demons will not only destroy her, but also him, can she really be expected to want to feel again when it brings nothing but pain? Back in Boston, everywhere he turns, Alexander Burnham is reminded of Olivia… His Olivia… He tries to dull the ache left in his heart the only way he knows how… in the bed of a beautiful woman. But Alexander isn’t about to lose his Olivia. After a clue comes to light regarding Olivia’s whereabouts, can he convince her to return to Boston with him? When a force that has laid dormant for months resurfaces, can Alexander still protect her from the unknown danger? And when Alexander comes face to face with a shadow of both his and Olivia’s past, will he be able to tell her the secret that is threatening to tear them apart? A Tragic Wreck is the continuation of T.K. Leigh’s heart-breaking Beautiful Mess series. This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster ride. One moment I was laughing and the next I was literally crying (I think my husband might think I've totally lost my mind). And in between the laughter and crying I was swept up in romance and the suspense of it all. T.K. Leigh manages to bring me to my knees emotionally through her obviously carefully selected words. … Needless to say this book is a must read. Once you start you will NOT be able to stop. I give it a solid 6 stars out of 5. That's right, for the second time since I started reviewing books I'm giving this book a 6 out of 5 star rating. It really is just that good. - Book Cracker Caroline My honest opinion is i'm speechless, just couldn't get enough of this awesome book, let alone put it down. This book had you gripping on the edge, waiting to see what happens, with a lot of twist and turns and heartache in the process. - Booky Ramblings This is a fantastic series and I cannot wait to find out what happens next. This is a must read!! - Who Picked This This is an extremely well-written, edge-of-your-seat, page-flipping action, suspense, love, and friendship story. I absolutely LOVE this story. - Page Princess

ExcerptBecause I’m lost in my thoughts, I don’t hear Cataline enter the room. Her tight black dress cuts across her mid-thighs, and her cleavage teases from a plummeting neckline. She’s done her makeup for probably the second time since arriving at the mansion. “What is this?” I ask, narrowing my eyes. “What?” Jasmine drifts under my nose as she walks away from me to her seat. “I told you not to dress up for dinner.” “I thought you’d like it,” she says, lowering herself gracefully into the chair. Her back is straight as a rod, and her fingers are laced. “You don’t?” Norman decorates the table with food as I stare Cataline down. He clears his throat. “For dinner, we have—” “Leave us.” He pauses. Though my eyes are still fastened on Cataline, I know he’s watching me as he bows his head. “As you wish, sir.” I stand and slowly walk the line of the long table. My footsteps echo through the hall, appropriately menacing. I’ve just come from a burning building but am back in my suit and tie to maintain appearances. And my ridiculous glasses, which I remove and toss aside. She’ll believe I’ve just returned from the office. When I’m standing over her, she tugs up the neckline of the dress and blinks at me. I resist smirking as she tucks hair behind her ear twice. “Well,” she says, “aren’t we going to eat?” “I’m going to eat.” “I’m not?” “As far as I’m concerned, there’s only one meal at this table, and it’s you.” My ears pick up her slow swallow, my eyes the curl of her hands in her lap. “That sounds like a threat,” she says quietly. I bend over, flatten one hand on the table and wrap the other around the arm of her chair. “It’s not. This is a threat: if you’re not naked and spread out on this table in two seconds, I’m going to spank you so hard, you won’t know up from down.”Connect with LeightonFacebook | Goodreads | TwitterGiveawaya Rafflecopter giveawayTitle: Until Lilly (Until #3) Author: Aurora Rose Reynolds Expected Release Date: March 5, 2014 Genre: Contemporary Romance SynopsisWhen Cash Mayson was forced to choose between the love of his life and his unborn child, he knew exactly what he had to do. I shrugged, “well, I am.” I replied truthfully. He sighed. Probably thinking vainly that it was all about him, his ego getting a boost from my evident pain. “We have been friends for a long time, Riley. Even before we became more. We were friends. Ya know? I miss you.” He told me as he sat down and grabbed my hand. I inwardly cringed and recoiled away from him. However, outwardly—I did nothing. “I know,” I said. I didn’t miss him. I didn’t need him. In fact, I resented him. So why was it that I rested my head on his shoulder? I’m asking myself that same thing as I stand in my shower. Replaying that thought and the image I saw on Josh’s face when he walked by-- looking at us—as though something was there between us. There wasn’t. I miss you, Josh. I decide after my shower to toil without respite. I wrap myself in a towel and walk across the hall to my bedroom. I have my head cast down, flipping through the playlist on my iPod settling on, Wish you were here by Incubus. I kick the door closed with my foot and walk into my closet. “We need to talk,” a voice says from my bed. I jump, dropping my iPod on the floor and nearly losing my towel as well. I step out of my closet, stand in the middle of my room, and narrow my eyes at my best friend. Ex-best friend? Preslee’s baby daddy? Ugh! “Damn it, Josh. You scared the crap out of me. What are you doing here?” He drags his eyes lazily up and down my body before narrowing them on my face. “I just told you. We need to talk. You won’t answer your fucking phone, or return my calls, or talk to me at school. So, here I am,” he says dryly. “Um, if you haven’t noticed I’m kind of naked here. I uh, can you like shut your eyes so I can put my clothes on? Then we can talk?” I ask him feigning exasperated, when actually I’m feeling flushed and nervous as hell. I’ve missed him, his nearness, his voice, and those eyes. The way he is looking at me. It’s so intense; I can’t help but feel affected. He stands, and walks towards me. For every step he takes, I take one away, until my back is pressed to my shut bedroom door. He is standing so close to me, I can feel his breath whisper along my cheek. He puts his hands on opposite sides of my head of the door, caging me in. He is looking down at me with such heat in his eyes that I don’t know what to make of any of this. “I noticed,” is all he says on a growl. He trails his fingers along my cheek, down my throat, to my collarbone, where he pauses, and looks up into my shocked eyes. “Your pulse is racing, Riley. Am I making you uncomfortable?” He asks, in a voice that is almost foreign. I shake my head back and forth, “no, yes, no. I’m confused.” I sigh, and look down. He tilts my chin up with his index finger. I keep my eyes cast downward, not wanting to look into his eyes. If I look into those hazel eyes, I am afraid of what I will see. Of what it will do to me. “I see that, Riley. Look at me.” His voice is soft, but demanding. I don’t want to look at him, but I can’t get my body to listen to my brain. I feel possessed. I meet his eyes just as a tear rolls down my cheek, and then another and another. Damn it. I am so weak. I can’t do this. He watches my tears fall, and drags the pad of his thumb under my eyes to wipe them away. I can’t stop them from falling. He seems just as lost as me in this moment, looking back and forth at each of my eyes. Studying me. Breaking me. “I’m sorry, baby.” He rests his forehead on mine, his dirty blonde hair tickling my eyes. I begin to shake uncontrollably. “I… I… I can’t do this, Josh. You need to leave, please. Please, leave me alone.” I stutter as I tremble. “I can’t. I can’t leave you alone.” His eyes flick to my mouth, and very slowly he places his left hand on the door and raises his right hand to my face. He slowly pads his thumb along my bottom lip that is quivering now. I can’t help but shut my eyes and let my head fall back to the door. I feel dizzy. My breaths are coming shallowly, and my heartbeat feels like a marching band has taken up residence inside my chest. Thumping so loudly, that I know he has to hear it. I’m losing control. I want him to stop, to never stop. What is wrong with me? He lowers his head to my shoulder, his breath so hot on my neck. “Riley?” He moves his hand away from my lips and is now tickling his fingers up and down my arm, leaving a tingling sensation and goose bumps in there path. “Hmm?” I didn’t know what to say anymore. He slowly lifts his head, dragging his nose along my cheek until our lips are almost touching. His mouth is only a breath apart from my own. I see a million emotions shadow his eyes as he looks down at my face. His breath is minty and tantalizing me. He presses his chest into my own, causing me to gasp. I look into his eyes, locking into a silent debate of will. He wraps his hand around the nape of my neck, his other hand cups my cheek, and I am certain he is about to kiss me. I don’t have the strength, or desire to stop him. If I lean in, we would kiss. One last taste would put me in my coffin. Be my poison. I’m addicted to his poison, though. I want it on my tongue, inside my mouth. Kiss me. He doesn’t kiss me, though. He steps back, and stares at me for the longest time. “I’m sorry. I can’t think straight with you like that. I’ll shut my eyes so you can put clothes on, and then we need to talk.” He says, gesturing to my towel wrapped body, and turns his back to me. It’s not up for question. We are going to talk. I dress quickly in white shorts and a teal camisole. My mind is reeling of airing all of this with him. What was he going to say? How would I respond in hearing it? What should I say? I walk over to my bed where he is sitting with his elbows rested on his knees, his head in the palms of his hands. I place my hand on his shoulder, and he looks up at me with wary eyes. I place my body in between his legs looking down at him. His eyes are indecisive and full of worry. I rub my index finger along his brow line to smooth it. “Do you remember when things used to be so easy between us? When we used to laugh together? When you would climb through that window just to annoy me?” I ask looking at the glass that holds so many good memories. Tears are brimming his eyes, “I remember every fucking minute ever spent with you, Riley.” He interlaces our fingers, watching mesmerized as he does. I look at our intertwined hands and back to his face. I bite my lip nervously. His eyes look to my lips and then back to my eyes. “Are you getting back together with Dean?” He asks abruptly. My mouth falls open in shock. What’s he smoking? For real? Seriously! Like, I would ever do that. Doesn’t he realize any of this? ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Facebook / Goodreads / Blog / Twitter / Amazon / Instagram Andrea Michelle was born and raised in Louisiana. Escape the Doubt is an enchanting love story between two teenagers, Josh and Riley. Best friends from a young age, they enter their teens and are both struck by an unimaginable tragedy. Facing their fears whilst still trying to be "normal" teenagers seems daunting for them both. After two years in a relationship that was doomed from the start, Riley realizes what time she has wasted. Josh on the other hand has made himself to be someone he is not. They come together to help one another deal with their insecurities and learn more about life than they have ever imagined. A sweet story. Definitely a YOUNG adult novel. A bit too "high-school" for my taste.. But that said, a must read for a helpless romantic young adult. Reviewed by Jacqui The City of Sin Never Looked so good... I probably picked it up and put it back in the bathroom. Couldn't let you get away without me getting what I want now could I?" He gave her a smug grin then quickly felt it melting off his face as she suddenly raised herself out of the tub, hot water and bubbles sliding down her naked form. She stepped from the water as he jumped up and off the edge of the bed. He hadn't expected that move from her. And oh boy, what a move... she was completely grown up now. Lush curves in just the right spots rounded out ever so slightly, where a coltish twenty two year old figure had once lived. She slid up to him with an impish look on her face, wearing nothing but a few lingering bubbles. She got real close, the steam rising from her breasts to hit him right in the face, more painful than the earlier slap he had received. Sliding her hands up his chest he inhaled raggedly, then said in a small voice that was horse with longing, "Please don't knee me again. I don't think I'd survive it." She slid her hands around to his back. "Oh, there's only one thing I want from you right now, stud." Her voice was low and seductive while the scent of her, woman and something earthy and exotic wafted up to him as he inhaled quickly, trying to keep a grip on himself, not to mention control over his suddenly raging body that was making him feel like some untried teenager faced with Mrs. Robinson. "And what's that?" He barely chocked out. Had he actually squeaked on that last note?!? How long ago had he last done that? She boldly placed both hands squarely on his gorgeous derriere, and squeezed, causing his knees to begin shaking. Jessi began shaking as well, from anger. “My phone. You lied. Where is it!?” “In the back pocket… of my dress pants.” “Arg!” She pulled her hands reluctantly off his tush but couldn’t help a quick smack. she walked away towards the bathroom leaving him in a puddle of lust and nerve endings. She walked towards the bathroom, leaving him in a puddle of lust and nerve endings, before calling over her shoulder as he held his breath. "Fine. You win this round. Pick me up in two hours.” The door shut behind her leaving a scent of temptation that Nathan broke from with a fair amount of difficulty. He figured he'd take the ice bucket with him back to his room. It would be the perfect end to the cold shower he was in serious need of. FACEBOOK / WEBSITE / GOODREADS / PINTEREST
